Employment Ontario's Youth Job Connection (YJC) program offers paid pre-employment training and job placement to youth across Ontario. Our role at Employment Services Elgin is to help local youth find and retain suitable jobs through a combination of pre-employment training, mentorship, and job placement.
If you are between the ages of 15-18, are experiencing multiple or complex barriers to employment and are looking for summer or part-time employment while in school, you can benefit from this intensive youth employment program. This progrm allows you to earn money while attending pre-employment training and offers up to 8 weeks (throughout the summer) and up to 10 hours per week through the school year of on-the-job training to assist you in transitioning from school to employment.
If you are between the ages of 15-29 and ready, willing and able to work, but need assistance with career choices, career management and job searching, this program can benefit you. This program will provide you with free educational workshops and supports to assit you in securing a job.
