Description

Job Overview:

We are a forward-thinking company in the field of shipbuilding and marine technologies, utilizing innovative approaches and 3D printing to create prototypes and functional components for vessels. We are looking for a talented 3D Print Designer to work on key elements of marine structures, combining engineering precision and the capabilities of additive manufacturing.

  • Location: Remote, Freelance
  • Salary: TBD
  • Employment type: Full-time

Job Description:

  • 3D Model Creation: Developing digital 3D models for printing key elements and assemblies of vessels (prototypes, interior details, functional components).
  • Print Optimization: Adapting and optimizing existing engineering drawings and CAD models for 3D printing technology.
  • Material Selection: Choosing and testing 3D printing materials (composites, metals, high-strength plastics) with regard to marine environment requirements (salt resistance, durability).
  • Tool Proficiency: Using specialized software for modeling (e.g., Blender, Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and slicers for preparing print files.
  • AI Integration (A Plus): Utilizing AI tools to accelerate and enhance the precision of design generation (similar to the use in AI Vibe coding), as well as for geometry optimization under load.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Conducting print runs, evaluating the quality and strength characteristics of the finished models, and adjusting parameters.

Qualifications

  • Experience in 3D modeling and 3D printing.
  • In-depth knowledge of additive technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, or similar).
  • Experience with CAD systems and 3D modeling software.
  • Understanding of engineering principles and stress analysis (preferably in mechanical engineering or shipbuilding).
  • Ability to rapidly adapt designs to real-world production tasks and requirements.
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., generative AI in design, like Midjourney or Stable Diffusion) will be a significant advantage.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
