Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Part time, Contract)

The Position:

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for planning, creating, and managing all marketing and social media activities for Employment Services Elgin. The successful candidate will help elevate our public presence, communicate our services effectively, and drive client and employer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media & Content Management
  • Develop and manage all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Create engaging content including posts, reels, stories, and campaigns
  • Share success stories, testimonials, and educational content related to employment services
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule and brand voice
  1. Marketing Strategy & Brand Development
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to increase awareness of services
  • Strengthen brand identity and community presence
  • Identify opportunities to reach unemployed or underemployed individuals
  1. Digital Marketing & Outreach
  • Support and execute digital advertising campaigns across platforms (social media, Google Ads, email marketing, etc.)
  • Monitor and optimize campaign performance using key metrics such as click-through rates (CTR), conversions, impressions, and cost-per-click (CPC)
  • Track and analyze website traffic using tools such as Google Analytics, including user behavior, page performance, and conversion pathways
  • Manage and evaluate engagement across all digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, website.), identifying trends and opportunities for growth
  • Assist in promoting events such as job fairs, workshops, and community initiatives through targeted digital strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop data-informed content that highlights programs and services effectively
  • Monitor SEO performance and recommend improvements to increase website visibility and traffic
  1. Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Promote services to employers and community partners
  • Support outreach initiatives and community-based marketing efforts
  • Lead planning and organizing of special events
  1. Reporting & Analytics
  • Track, compile, and analyze detailed performance metrics across all digital channels, including website traffic, social media engagement, and advertising campaigns
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that measure KPIs such as engagement rates, reach, conversions, bounce rates, and user retention
  • Analyze website click patterns, user journeys, and content performance to inform marketing strategies
  • Provide regular (quarterly) reports with clear insights, trends, and actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and outreach efforts using data-driven analysis
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in digital engagement and propose strategies to increase reach and impact
  • Present findings to staff in a clear, accessible way to support decision-making and program development
  1. Other Duties
  • Support internal communications and promotional materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • Experience managing social media accounts and creating digital content
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe) is an asset
