St. Thomas Nissan is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Automotive Detailer to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring our vehicles are presented in top condition for our customers.

Position Summary

The Detailer is responsible for the thorough cleaning, detailing, and presentation of all customer and dealership vehicles. This includes interior and exterior cleaning, inspection of vehicle condition, documenting gas levels, and ensuring all vehicles meet dealership quality standards before delivery to customers or placement on the lot.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Automotive Detailer performs a variety of tasks to support the service and sales departments.

Vehicle Cleaning & Detailing

• Wash, clean, and dry vehicle exteriors by hand or with equipment.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and steam-clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, seats, and mats.
• Clean and sanitize dashboards, consoles, windows, panels, and other interior components.
• Perform polishing, buffing, waxing, and paint restoration as required.
  Apply protective coatings, dressings, and cleaning agents according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management from time to time.

Inspection & Documentation

• Conduct visual inspections for damage, cleanliness, and quality of work performed.
• Record gas levels, mileage, and vehicle condition accurately.
• Report any issues or damages immediately to the Service Manager.

Vehicle Handling

• Safely move, park, and organize vehicles within the dealership lot.
• Deliver vehicles to customers or departments as required.
• Pick up or drop off customers when needed, ensuring excellent customer service.

Inventory & Maintenance

• Monitor detailing supplies and request replenishment when necessary.
• Maintain all detailing tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep the detailing area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Customer Service

• Respond professionally to customer inquiries related to vehicle detailing.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering vehicles in excellent condition.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in automotive detailing an asset, but training can be provided.​
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
