The Belmont Diner is a busy, community-focused breakfast and lunch restaurant known for consistent quality and friendly service. We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Cook / Kitchen Prep to join our kitchen team.

Job Summary

The Cook / Kitchen Prep team member is responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items to order, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. The ideal candidate has previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen and can work efficiently during busy service periods.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients, portion items, and complete daily prep lists
  • Cook breakfast and lunch items on the grill, flat top, and fryer
  • Follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality
  • Keep workstations clean, stocked, and organized
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with dishes and general kitchen duties as required
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house team

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen and cooking experience required
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Safe Food Handler Certificate required
  • Require own transportation

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time: 3–5 shifts per week
  • Morning and midday shifts (currently only Friday dinner shift)
  • Longer hours to start
