We are a growing, fast-paced manufacturing facility looking for reliable, hard-working Production Associates. In this role, you will play a crucial part to keep production running smoothly. Your daily tasks will be highly varied. You will receive on-the-job training, with opportunities to learn new machinery and build a long-term career in the metalworking trade.  Benefits available after 90 days of continuous employment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Material Preparation: Load/unload steel, aluminum, stainless steel sheets, bar stock, structural sections onto automated and manual equipment.
  • Parts Finishing & Grinding: Fluency in operating grinders, deburring tools, sanders, tapping machines and drill presses as required.
  • Assembly Support: Assist fitters and welders by securing components using clamps, fixtures, and basic manual hand tools.
  • Precision Measurements: Read basic layout drawings and use tape measures and calipers to verify cut pieces are accurate and within tolerances.
  • Quality Checks: First off, in process and final inspections required on all products to make sure parts match exact standards.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle raw materials, scrap metal, and finished projects manually or using shop hoists, dollies, and pallet jacks.
  • Shop Maintenance: Clean welding bays, sweep the production floor, empty scrap metal bins, and organize inventory to maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal fabricating environment is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Measurement Literacy: Must be comfortable reading measurements in both imperial and metric systems.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Good basic math skills and problem-solving habits for troubleshooting minor errors.
  • Physical Demands: Capacity to stand for an 8-hour shift and regularly lift up to 45 lbs (20 kg) safely.
  • Language Proficiency: Functional English (verbal and written) to interpret work orders and understand safety instructions.

Ideal Candidate Would Potentially Possess:

  • A valid provincial driver’s licence (e.g., Ontario Class G).
  • Current certification for Forklift or Overhead Crane operation.
  • Basic experience performing mig/stick tack welding.
