Accountant
Description
Erie Flooring & Wood Products is seeking a full-time permanent accountant. The successful incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of accounting responsibilities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Plant Accountant is responsible for:
- Reviewing, analyzing, documenting, understanding and streamlining all financial business processes.
- Assess business needs, design, develop and recommend solutions based on legislative/business requirements.
- Ability to work accurately, effectively and independently in a demanding environment, to meet multiple deadlines.
- Analyze the general ledger in an accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date manner.
- Prepare and submit government forms for Payroll Taxes, HST, EHT etc.
- Prepare account reconciliations and analyses, and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Demonstrated experience of cost accounting and plant audits in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is mandatory.
- Support month/year-end procedures by producing working papers, analyses and reports for external auditors.
- Comfortable multitasking and performing a variety of administrative duties.
This job is an office setting job that will NOT be able to accommodate remote working from home. This is a permanent salary position that includes medical, dental, disability, life & group insurance & vision care benefits.
Qualifications
- Must have experience in accounting and QuickBooks.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in General Accounting functions.
- Exceptional communication skills/both verbal & written, with an emphasis on strong organization skills.
- The ability to be a self-starter who can work independently or as a team player.
- Ability to apply business analysis techniques to increasingly complex projects or initiatives.
