Brake Press Operator (Night Shift)

Hours: 30 to 40 hours/week
Terms: Nightshift (Contract)
The position of Brake Press Operator includes but is not limited to the operation, setup, and maintenance of brake press machines as well as use of a variety of hand and power tools. The Brake Press Operator will be required to work according to established procedures, read and understand work orders and blueprints, and follow all safety protocols and workplace policies.
Responsibilities:
- Operation and setup of brake press machines
- Inform Lead Hand of required supplies/inventory and report of any defects
- Identifies cut parts with part numbers to ensure they are routed to the appropriate machining operation
- Use a variety of measuring devices such as verniers, micrometers, tape measure, etc. to ensure parts are within acceptable tolerance as determined by the drawings
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on the brake press machine
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
- Other assigned work as required
Work Conditions:
- Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform somewhat strenuous physical labor at different times
- Use of personal protection equipment will be required
- Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs

Hours & Nightshift Premium:
- 5PM – 4:30AM, Monday to Thursday
- 11% nightshift premium (i.e., $22.50 starting wage + 11% shift premium on all grossed hours worked)

Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a brake press operator
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production shop
- Preferably possess a valid driver’s license
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Strong attention to detail
