Curator/Researcher (Student Position)

Sparta & District Horticultural Society
Term: May 13 to end of August 2026
Location: Sparta, ON
Wage: $17.80/hour
Hours: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm for 35 hours/week
The student will be manning one of our museums from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The days will be Wednesday to Sunday plus holidays.
Interviews will be held in February and March with the successful candidate chosen by the end of March.
Job Description:
Other duties include but not limited to:
- Do research on properties
- Inventory artifacts
- Give tours
- Assist with research
- Digitize inventory
- Set up a new display of on Living in the 1940s
- Keep the museum clean, gardens weeded and trimmed
- Research artifacts
Qualifications
- Post secondary studies with an interest in history, art, architecture or museums
- Must be returning to school full time in the fall
- Students must be under the age of 30 due to grant restrictions
