About The Position:
We are seeking a motivated, adaptable and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will play a pivotal part in the career development of individuals facing barriers to employment. The primary responsibilities include conducting client intake assessments, collaboratively developing employment action plans, and employing motivational interviewing techniques to identify and address clients’ unique employment needs.
Wage – $22.95 – $28.23/hour depending on experience
Hours – Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Duties:
- Professional Communication:
- Communicate professionally with clients, co-workers, and community partners through in-person meetings and various virtual tools.
- Client Interviews and Assessments:
- Interview clients to gather employment history and educational background.
- Conduct skills assessments and evaluations to determine interests, aptitudes, and abilities and motivation, reliability, and dependability.
- Case Management/Employment Action Plans:
- Proven case management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Assist clients with resume writing, job searching, and interview preparation.
- Provide instruction on current job searching best practices, resources, and technology.
- Working Conditions:
- Traveling to community partner sites, other offices, or employer locations.
- Intermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain detailed records of client and employer interactions in ES Cases and CaMS.
- Prepare and maintain necessary documentation contract negotiation.
- Effectively use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other various computer platforms.
- Other:
- Perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Verification of full vaccination for COVID-19.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Service, Human Resource, in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Career Practitioner Certification (preferred).
- Proven experience in employment services, job development, or related roles (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
