Legal Assistant/Law Clerk

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and proofread legal documents, including Real Estate signing documents, probate documents and wills.
  • Organize and maintain case files.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, date entry, and managing correspondence and preparing accounts.
  • Collaborate with lawyers to manage appointments and files.
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
  • Occasional reception duties as required.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (no weekends)
  • 8-hour shift (8:30 am-4:30 pm)
  • Lunch break (12pm-1pm)

Wage: Commensurate with experience level

On site parking

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in legal drafting and writing with attention to detail.
  • Experience with administrative tasks in a legal environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Real Estate Law process and Estates Law process.
  • Experience assisting with the drafting of wills.
  • Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work together in a small office environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients.
