Manager of Community Engagement & Fund Development

Description

As Manager of Community Engagement & Fund Development, you will play a key role in advancing our mission by:

  • Leading strategic community outreach and engagement efforts
  • Securing funding through grant writing and fundraising campaigns
  • Overseeing high-impact youth programs
  • Supervising and mentoring a passionate team of staff
  • Representing Ignite in the community and ensuring our services remain responsive, accessible, and relevant to youth needs

This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who can balance program oversight, relationship-building, and strategic thinking in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, local organizations, and businesses
  • Identify, apply for, and manage grants
  • Lead fundraising efforts to support Ignite’s sustainability
  • Develop creative strategies to secure community and donor support
  • Oversee planning and delivery of youth programs
  • Mentor and manage a team of youth-focused staff
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and supportive team environment
  • Address staffing needs and ensure smooth operations of the centre
  • Ensure programs are well-resourced and accessible to all youth
  • Identify and respond to facility and operational needs

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in community engagement, program management, and/or fundraising
  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Grant writing experience is a strong asset
  • A passion for youth development and community impact
