Mobile Generator Service Technician

Term: Permanent Full-Time
Hours:  35 hours/week
Wage: TBD, Based on experience

Job Description:

We are looking for a mechanically inclined, reliable person to join our mobile generator service team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, likes solving problems and wants to learn a specialized trade. Generator experience is not required — we are willing to train the right person.

You will initially work alongside an experienced technician, learning generator maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and our service procedures.

As your knowledge and experience develop, you will transition into working from your own fully equipped service truck and handling customer service calls independently.

The position involves travelling to customer sites throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance and inspections on standby generators
  • Oil and filter changes
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Load bank testing
  • Emergency service calls
  • Diagnosing and resolving equipment problems
  • Travelling to customer sites throughout Southwestern Ontario
  • Completing service reports and communicating with customers

Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined and enjoys working with their hands
  • Has good problem-solving skills and common sense
  • Is reliable and takes pride in their work
  • Is willing to learn and take direction
  • Can work independently once properly trained
  • Is comfortable working at different customer sites and in various weather conditions
  • Has good communication skills
  • Has a valid driver’s licence
  • Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
  • Automotive / Diesel mechanics / Heavy equipment / Construction / Farming/agricultural equipment
  • Electrical / Industrial maintenance / Other hands-on mechanical trades
  • Generator experience is not required
