Our garden is open to all, providing a space for individuals to work together and harvest fresh produce, fostering community spirit and addressing food insecurities. Jesus is the fundamental nutrient we use in our garden, guiding our mission and values.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Student Garden Assist to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in garden operations.  Focusing on the vegetables, herbs and flowers grown in the garden area.  This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of the garden and enhancing our community outreach.

Position Type: Seasonal

Duration: 9 weeks, June 16 – Aug 15

Wage: $17.20/hour

Hours:  30 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with volunteers, including scheduling and task assignments.
• Provide support and guidance to volunteers as necessary in the garden.
• Open and close the garden, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Work alongside garden members in the daily operations and maintenance of the garden.
• Support the development and execution of food distribution plans.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all garden participants.
• Assist in promoting the garden.

• Be a student, aged 15-30 years old.
• Basic knowledge of gardening practices.
• Passion for community service and gardening.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
• Able to work within the values and mission of Destination Church.
