Wage: $18.60/hour

Position Summary

The Youth Development Coordinator will mentor and support youth and young adults with a developmental disability to connect with their communities both virtually and in person. This role focuses on building inclusive employment, volunteer, and social opportunities while supporting participants to build confidence, independence, and community belonging.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support youth/young adults with a developmental disability to engage in community-based activities, both virtually and in person
  • Assist individuals to explore and participate in employment, volunteer, and social opportunities aligned with their interests and strengths
  • Network with community organizations, businesses, and local leaders to identify, secure, and support inclusive opportunities
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging independence and meaningful community participation

Qualifications

Requirements

  • This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and is open to youth aged 15 to 30 years
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive, professional, and supportive role model
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic technical skills to support and facilitate virtual opportunities
  • Preference will be given to candidates with education or experience in social services, developmental services, or other community-based fields
