Youth Development Facilitator - (Temporary position)

About the Role: Ignite Youth Centre is seeking a passionate and skilled professional to lead the design and facilitation of Ready Set High School, a new support program for students transitioning into high school. This initiative is funded by the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) and aims to empower Grade 8 students preparing for high school and Grade 9 students navigating their first year.
The successful candidate will design the full program framework—developing orientation materials, workshop content, individualized coaching templates, and evaluation tools. You will facilitate eight interactive workshops on topics such as building confidence, managing stress, enhancing social skills, and fostering a sense of belonging. Additionally, you will provide one-on-one coaching to 15 students and oversee the coaching of an additional 15 students delivered by Ignite staff.
This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced educator, counselor, or youth worker to make a meaningful impact during a critical developmental stage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop the Ready Set High School program, including:
o Orientation materials
o Workshop curriculum
o Coaching templates
o Evaluation and tracking tools
• Facilitate 8 interactive workshops for youth entering or adjusting to high school
• Provide individual coaching for 15 youth participants
• Support and supervise Ignite staff coaching an additional 15 youth
• Create take-away resources and tools for ongoing use by Ignite staff
• Assist with program logistics and coordination as needed
• Monitor youth progress and evaluate program impact
Who Should Apply:
We’re looking for someone with a background in youth development, education and mental health, who can create engaging, evidence-informed programming tailored to the unique needs of young people. Ideal candidates may include:
• Educators (particularly Grade 7–9 teachers)
• Youth development consultants or facilitators
• Social workers or youth mental health professionals
• Personal development or life coaches
