Our program is growing! Do you like to work with adults? Are you interested in making a true difference in the lives of people in your community?

We provide learning opportunities for adults returning for general upgrading or employment skills in St. Thomas and Aylmer.

The programs offered include:

  • Adult Upgrading ranging from basic skills to GED preparation
  • Real life skills i.e.designing a poster, computer training, budgeting
  • Action Plans focussed on individual needs
  • Goal setting
  • Childcare and transportation subsidies available

Our programs provide a comfortable, safe environment for adult learners to gain confidence in their ability to move into further education or employment and offer goal setting and academic opportunities to focus and support their plans.


The Adult Education Facilitator will be responsible for supporting the staff delivering the components of the program as set out by the funding ministry. They will deliver training to adults, follow-up, and ensure adults receive appropriate access to education.

  • Post-secondary education in related area
  • Experience in delivering education programs to all adults including those with barriers
  • Presentation and facilitation experience
  • Knowledge of resources available in St. Thomas and Elgin County
  • Must have relevant computer skills


  • Create a welcoming, comfortable environment for adult learners.
  • Communicate with the learners in a manner that shows respect for their life experiences, goals, and concerns.
  • Support learners as they progress through the learning plans based on their goals.
  • Refer students to the appropriate provider or agency to meet their spectrum of needs
  • Support the Adult Facilitator to develop and deliver programs to adults in academics, essential skills, and life skills in small groups
  • Assist in the matching and support of one-to-one tutoring
  • Complete administration duties, reports, and statistics as required.
